Vincent Audio Hybrids Combine the Best of Tube and Solid State Design
SSP-332 Hybrid Amplifier and SA-32 Hybrid Preamplifier Bring Classic German Design and Performance to Real-World Price Points
Vincent Audio now offers a pair of advanced two-channel components that reflect the company’s dedication to classic design and astonishing performance.
The SP-332 hybrid vacuum tube and solid state power amp ($1,995.95) and SA-32 hybrid stereo preamplifier ($999.95), exemplify Vincent Audio’s approach to adhering to the best aspects of traditional audio components while incorporating technologies that bring out the depth and subtle nuances of well-recorded music.
“Vincent Audio epitomizes the intense focus and investment that goes into creating some of the most impressive audio equipment on the market,” said Wayne Schuurman, President, Audio Advisor. “Any time someone asks why German design is so revered in the audio market, I point to Vincent as an example of how attention to detail and commitment to perfection can result in sanely priced products.”
Both the SP-332 hybrid amp and SA-32 hybrid stereo preamp feature robust performance with an expansive soundstage to fill a large room. As an upgrade to Vincent Audio’s SP-331 hybrid amp, the new SP-332 features higher quality inputs, with both balanced XLR and single-ended RCA inputs that are selectable via a rear-panel switch. In addition, there are dual speaker outputs, each of which can be switched on and off, enabling the user to sample two different pairs of loudspeakers, or use the amp in a bi-amp configuration.
The SP-332 brings the best of two worlds to audiophiles, combining the advantages of both transistor amplifiers and vacuum tube components. Featuring two 6N16 tubes working in differential push-pull design in the input stage, the sound is warm and rich. The solid state output stage, powered by eight formidable FET transistors for the final amplification, provide 150 watts-per-channel at 8 ohms and will effortlessly drive even the most demanding loudspeakers.
As the ideal partner for the SSP-332 hybrid power amp, the SA-32 hybrid preamp offers similar benefits of tube and solid-state circuitry working in harmony in the same model. The multi-purpose, robust stereo preamplifier includes five RCA inputs and one balanced XLR input for adding a wide range of sources to the selection.
The SA-32 updates its predecessor, the SA-31, with four 6N16 tubes instead of only two: Two tubes are placed at the input section, and two more tubes sit in front of the output after the tone control. The result is a more natural sounding sonic signature with better dynamics and added musicality.
Rounding out the SA-32 package is a brushed metal remote control with an ergonomically enhanced aluminum case.
